Full Day in St Thomas

On our only full day in St. Thomas we traveled around Charlotte Amelie. Not exactly a happening town, but we can always provide ourselves random entertainment.

Weekend in Chicago

Finally made it to Chicago for the weekend! Saturday was the wedding in the suburbs which rocked! Then, on Sunday we headed for a night in the city & continued to hang with some of my "old" college friends.

Train to Chicago

We've begun our spring break adventure! For a variety of reasons we decided to take the train to Chicago for my college friend's wedding this weekend.... yes, the train!

I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive about traveling on a train. It was an overnight train that left Rochester at 11pm and arrived in Chicago at 10am. I wasn't really worried about sleeping on the train, since I can pretty much sleep anywhere, but I was concerned about the toilet situation. We had a sleeper car & the toilet would be right there next to me.... eww.

The toilet next to my bed

In the end, the toilet wasn't really that big of a deal. We didn't allow each other to actually use it (we had to travel down the hall for the bathroom), and no, it did not smell.

The night of sleeping actually turned out to be a bit rougher than anticipated. The tracks are definitely not maintained that well & there was a lot of jerking around done by the train. When we awoke in the morning from our poor slumber we were definitely ready for some breakfast.

Breakfast is included in the ticket price for sleeper cars. We were able to pick anything off the menu.

Ready for some bacon

Ready for his hash

Yum

The food actually was pretty good. After breakfast we headed back to our room & did some reading as we waited to arrive in Chi-town.
