I'm Married to a National Champion!

Peter posted what is below on Google+ a few days ago. I told him to scream it from the mountaintops, but he thought that was unnecessary. I told him to post it on his blog, but he didn't feel it was appropriate content or something. I told him to do a guest post on my blog, but he didn't seem too excited about that either. So, I decided to make the world aware of my husband's accomplishment by cutting & posting his post below! Enjoy!

I've found an activity that is random enough and has low enough participation that I can perform at an elite level. A couple weeks ago I found out that the US National Trail Orienteering Championships were going to be held just down the street from where I live and anybody could participate for a $25 fee. I'd never done trail orienteering, though I had done regular foot orienteering before. I figured I might as well try it as something different. Somehow I won. Yes, I am the current reigning US National Trail Orienteering Champion. Seriously. I'm not joking. I beat the four members of the US national trail orienteering team that were there. You can see the results here: http://orienteeringusa.org/us-teams/trail/events

Also, if you are interested in what trail orienteering is, you can go to:http://orienteering.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Technical-Introduction-to-TrailO-for-Experienced-Foot-Orienteers1.pdf

Edit: They took the results down for some reason from the Orienteering USA page, but they can still be found here:

Visiting Some Cuties in B-lo

After working 75 hours in 8 days I finally had a day off on Thursday, and was excited to head out to Buffalo to see some of my favorite people & meet a couple new faves!

First stop was to meet my friend Jenny's new baby girl, Claire Ann! She was actually born the day after Juliet. She weighed in at a whopping 5 lbs 15 oz when she was born & was still quite the little peanut when I finally met her at 13 days old...

Me & Claire Ann

I could just stare at that little face all day!

I'm kind of obsessed with teeny tiny baby feet!

After leaving Jenny's I headed over to my brother's to meet another little girl- Baby Ellie! Ellie is another little peanut, weighing in at barely 2 lbs!

Can I take her home with me?!

What do you mean, "No?"

Proud dad & his baby girl

"Put me down! I want to play!"

Bye Ellie! I'll be back soon!

I Have a New Niece....

Her name is Ellie....

Yes, my brother adopted a kitten... a girl kitten... and named her "Ellie".... and being the crazy cat lady that I am, I approve. I'm pretty sure that my mother's thought on this kitten is that my brother will now never find a girlfriend, but she looks like a chick magnet to me!

Perhaps you feel I misled you with the title of this post... maybe you know that there is another little girl that's recently been welcomed into this world....

This is baby Juliet. Another new niece. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law's new baby girl! I just love this picture of her!

... OK, I'm gonna have to end the post here since the cuteness factor is already exponential & I don't think I can handle much more!
