Go Kuwaitis!

This past weekend, along with other things (such as buying a hot tub! & going to my friend, Heather's baby shower in Buffalo!), Peter & I attended and participated in a tournament of sorts.....

It was also a celebration for Heidi's birthday.....

And, of course it's not a party without the fur coat....

....I guess it's not much of a coat anymore!

What a handy husband I have...

Friday night my husband & I were heading out for dinner. He walked into the garage and opened his car door when I heard him say something along the lines of, "Huh!" Well, I don't really remember what he said, but my first assumption was that he hit my car with his car door. But oh, no, not the case! He had dropped his keys down a grate that lies conveniently between our cars in the garage. My first instinct was to go back into the house, however I rarely bring along my keys when Peter's driving. Luckily my husband was very calm, collected & prepared. His fishing gear is in the garage, so he busted it out & started fishing for some keys.....

Family Visit

This past weekend my parents & aunt came for a visit to see our new home & have dinner. My aunt, as always, insisted on a picture.

Halloween Weekend

Friday night we went to "Zombie Power Hour!" Here's some pictures from about halfway into the power hour. As you can see, some of us were more in character than others!

We didn't have time to pull costumes together, so we dressed "in the spirit of Halloween" instead!

Saturday night, despite being exhausted, we made ourselves head on over to Lux for some Halloween fun. I made Peter take some pictures of me & Muffin in our matching costumes!

Due to our inability to sell our Bills tickets this week, we (ie Peter) decided we should go to the game... at least I got to see Nicole!

Trip to Vermont

This past weekend Peter & headed over to Vermont for a get together celebrating Lauren & Barrett's birthdays. Our initial plan was to rough it & sleep outdoors in a tent, but the weather was pretty lousy & there was a bed available to us, so how could we refuse the warmth of the indoors?!

We had planned on going for a hike on Saturday, but due to inclement weather we had to revert to our backup plan. This plan included:

Stop #1. Dakin Farm where we were able to sample various cheeses, sausages, chutneys, other dips & things with maple.... I don't like maple flavored anything, so I stayed away from those. There we purchased smoked cheese with onion (very good!) & smoked chicken sausage w/apple. I had been wary of apple in my sausage, but it was actually quite tasty.

Stop #2. Lincoln Peak Vineyard were the boys enjoyed a wine tasting while the girls looked on. Here Peter purchased a bottle of Frontenac. (I have a rule about buying a bottle of wine whenever we have a tasting at a Vineyard.) He says it's good. We'll see.

Stop #3. Otter Creek Brewery is a place we had actually been to before. We visited there while in Vermont for Lauren & Barrett's wedding over 3 years ago. I'd recommend the Copper Ale which is what we drank for most of the weekend. I also enjoyed the Winter Ale which is Rasberry Brown, 'cause of course all you have to do is throw some raspberry in a beer & I'll enjoy it. I brought some of that home as well as a couple of bottles of the Pumpkin Ale. I would probably only drink one of the Pumpkin Ales before getting sick of it, but it was a nice change of pace.

So, that was our weekend, along with lots of games, a bonfire, wii & just hanging out. Lots of fun with friends & strangers!

My blog is now officially "caught up!" Chicky, Chicky, woof, woof!

Around the South Wedge

Peter & I have been exploring our new neighborhood & we've been encouraging others to do the same. Since we couldn't participate in Around the World this year we decided to host the first annual Around the South Wedge party! (We live in the area of Rochester know as The South Wedge. Feel free to click on the link to learn more about it!) So, what better way to show off our neighborhood then to do a little pub crawl! We started off at our house with desserts & continued on to Tap & Mallet, The Keg, Lux, and finally Caverly's. Fun was had by all! Luckily I captured some moments of the night on my Blackberry!

Not a cute pic of us, but see how we match?!

Cheeseburger shots: Let's just say the best part of these shots is the tequila- that's how gross they are. I stayed away!

Shot #1: Tequila. Shot #2: Bloody Mary Mix. Shot #3: Pickle Juice. Ewwww!

You can write on the wall in the bathroom, so I did.
